BACK TO
WINNING WAYS
Last
Saturday the Haumoana Hurricanes played the Havelock Phoenix Flyers at Windsor Park.
In the previous rounds before this match the Hurricanes lost to a different
Havelock team the Blast Stars, then beat Marist, drew with Central Hawk’s Bay
and won there pool in a tournament on Queen’s Birthday weekend.
They didn’t
have training on Wednesday because it was raining. The whistle blew and Havelock
gave the ball straight to Haumoana. They
took their chances and scored. It didn’t stop there. At half time Haumoana were
winning four nil.
The second
half began and it looked like a girl on the other team was going to score but
James tripped her up. Luckily the ref didn’t give a penalty. She had two other
chances but she got tripped up again and again.
Haumoana
scored four more goals in the second half to win eight nil. On one side the red
and black were celebrating. On the other side it was a different story. The player
of the day was Wesley. Haumoana were a lot more determined to win.
