| Strong Team Effort |
The inaugural cycle championships took place over 2 days last
weekend. While not aimed at primary aged
children, Haumoana entered four individuals in the 20km Saturday Road Race and
a team of 4 in the 18km Team Time Trial on Sunday.
The Road Race proved to be a real challenge for the boys who
mixed it well with intermediate children from throughout Hawke’s Bay as well as
Manawatu and Taupo. Will was the top
finisher in 8th place with George B making the top ten and Barney in
twelfth .

| Familiar Faces |
Sunday’s Team Time Trial demonstrated the real strength of
the team – working together! The 4 boys,
Wesley, Will, Noah and George completed the 18km windy, undulating course in 35minutes
47seconds to finish in second place, beaten by less than a minute by the strong
HNI team (which contained 3 ex-pupils).
